Laboratory Machine Integration in Pakistan

Every value a technician retypes from an analyser is an opportunity for a wrong result on a patient's report. PathCare connects your machines to your lab software so results land in the correct patient record automatically — including when the lab is working offline.

  • Haematology and chemistry analysers
  • Immunoassay and ELISA systems
  • Urinalysis and coagulation analysers
  • Barcode-driven sample matching
  • Works alongside offline mode
  • Multi-parameter panels in one transfer

The real cost of manual result entry

A CBC with differential, a liver function panel and a lipid profile can together run to dozens of individual values per patient. Typing those by hand, shift after shift, produces the errors every lab owner worries about: a decimal point moved, a value entered against the wrong parameter, a result copied into the wrong patient's record.

Those errors are expensive in a specific way. They usually surface after the report has already been delivered, which means a corrected report, a difficult phone call and, in some cases, a lost client. The cost of integration is easy to justify against a single incident of that kind.

How the integration works

  1. Sample is labelled. At registration or collection, PathCare prints a barcoded label for the specimen tube.
  2. The analyser reads the sample. Where the analyser supports barcode reading, it identifies the sample ID itself; otherwise the technician selects the sample on the machine.
  3. Results transfer into PathCare. The analyser's output is received directly into the correct patient's record, mapped to the correct parameters.
  4. Normal ranges are applied. PathCare flags abnormal values using the reference ranges configured for the patient's age and gender.
  5. Pathologist verifies. The verified report is generated, printed or dispatched on WhatsApp as usual.

What we need from you to confirm compatibility

  • Machine make and model for each analyser in your lab.
  • The output port available on the machine (serial, network or USB).
  • Whether the analyser supports barcode reading of specimen labels.
  • The test menu you run on each machine, so parameters are mapped correctly.
  • Whether you want a one-way (results only) or two-way (worklist + results) interface.

Ask for a live test before you commit. Machine integration is the feature most often promised in a sales meeting and discovered to be incompatible at go-live. Insist on connecting your own analyser during evaluation, with your own test menu.

Integration works best with these

Three other parts of PathCare that remove manual work

Barcode sample tracking

Machine-readable specimen labels are what let an analyser identify the sample without a technician typing an ID.

Offline continuity

Machine results are received into the local copy while you are offline, then sync with everything else when connectivity returns.

Offline mode

WhatsApp report dispatch

Once verified, the report goes out automatically — so an integrated lab can go from sample to patient with almost no manual step.

Frequently asked questions

Which laboratory machines can be integrated?

PathCare integrates with analysers that provide a data output interface, including haematology analysers, clinical chemistry analysers, immunoassay and ELISA systems, urinalysis analysers and coagulation analysers. Share your make and model and we will confirm compatibility before you commit.

How does machine integration reduce errors?

Results transfer directly from the analyser into the patient record with no manual retyping step, removing the most common source of wrong values — especially on large multi-parameter panels.

Does integration work with barcoded samples?

Yes. With PathCare barcoded labels, a barcode-enabled analyser reads the sample ID and matches results to the correct patient without manual selection.

Does offline mode work with machine integration?

Yes. Machine results are received into the local copy while the lab is offline, and both the results and machine data sync when the connection returns.

Is machine integration included in the price?

It is a module, because interface work depends on your analyser models. Share your machine list when requesting a quote and we will include integration in the proposal.
